Customer Voice | BOE and ESTUN Join Hands to Create Clean Intelligent Electronics Manufacturing and Light Up Every Inch of the Screen
Publish Date:Jul 10,2026
Between square inches, no dust is tolerated. From glass substrates to lit screens, hundreds of precision processes are closely linked, and yield is closely related to cleanliness. As electronic manufacturing approaches extreme standards, how can domestic brands join forces to break through?
As a global leader in semiconductor display, BOE has continuously promoted automated manufacturing upgrades from LCD to flexible OLED. However, core areas such as yellow light exposure lines need to maintain Class 10 or even stricter cleanliness standards (ISO Class 4) for a long time. General robot solutions are difficult to adapt to the stringent processes of electronic manufacturing—cable routing, interface layout, and installation dimensions. Every subtle difference may affect production line efficiency. Facing industry pain points such as "extremely high cleanliness requirements, difficult wiring in narrow spaces, and frequent changeovers among multiple varieties," BOE has joined hands with ESTUN for years of in-depth cooperation to create lightweight clean robots that truly integrate into production logic and adapt to extreme processes.
Relying on years of technical accumulation in the robotics industry and full-chain independent development capabilities, ESTUN overcame industry challenges one by one from structural design to software algorithms, and in the same year achieved the introduction of more than 100 clean robots into BOE's production lines. As of 2026, more than 1,000 ESTUN lightweight clean robots have been running stably on BOE's production lines. With deeply customized hardware, self-developed core algorithms, and AI intelligent operation and maintenance, it provides a one-stop solution to the full-process pain points of clean automation in electronic manufacturing.
Clean and High-Performance Product Positioning, Stable Operation in Harsh Environments
Electronic manufacturing production lines have extremely strict requirements for particle emission control. Conventional robots can easily become pollution sources in clean workshops. ESTUN has made targeted breakthroughs in multiple key clean technologies while improving production line efficiency.
Hollow wrist design: The first hollow wrist structure in China, with cables routed inside the arm, avoiding the dust generation risk and cable wear caused by external routing, while also saving installation space in narrow areas, perfectly adapting to compact workstations such as yellow light exposure lines.
Special surface treatment: The end flange uses special materials, and the painting scheme has been upgraded for cleanliness, significantly reducing particle emission during operation. The whole machine reaches ISO Class 5 cleanliness level, and SCARA clean robots can reach Class 4, suitable for the highest-requirement precision processes such as camera module assembly and screen bonding. Every clean modification, including electrical cabinets, wiring, and painting, relies on ESTUN's independent core components and whole-machine software self-development capabilities, ensuring rapid implementation and continuous iteration of solutions.
Platform-based design: Based on different load and reach requirements in different scenarios, platform-based design has derived multiple desktop six-axis products, including ER7-910-MI, ER8-720-MI, ER15-1430, and ER20-1200, easily handling narrow spaces in panel production lines. The high-rigidity body ensures positioning accuracy and long-term stability under high-speed operation.
High-performance performance: Adopting a new kinematic model and parameter compensation technology, and newly developing an adaptive vibration suppression algorithm, it has achieved more than 20% improvement in robot accuracy. Using a self-learning speed-up algorithm, under application trajectories, it learns and adjusts motion parameters simultaneously, increasing the robot's motion cycle by more than 30%.

Deeply Customized Design, Solving Production Line Adaptation Challenges
Because general solutions are difficult to adapt to BOE's stringent electronic manufacturing processes, ESTUN abandoned the standardized product approach common in the market and advanced customized implementation through joint development and deep co-creation:
Cable and interface customization: From cable routing layout to interface definition, each item is matched and optimized according to BOE's existing production line standards, ensuring the robot can be installed and used immediately without modifying existing fixtures, greatly shortening on-site deployment cycles.
Air pipe and communication solution optimization: Customized air pipe routing and communication protocol adaptation solutions achieve efficient isolation of air paths, signal lines, and power lines within limited space, thoroughly solving signal interference problems.
Rapid changeover support: Based on the self-developed control system, it supports one-click switching of multi-variety process recipes. Facing frequent changeover needs in the panel industry, operators can complete variety switching without the intervention of professional engineers.

AI Intelligent Operation and Maintenance, from Reactive Repair to Proactive Warning
Panel production line downtime costs are extremely high. Traditional operation and maintenance rely on manual inspections and rush repairs after failures, which is difficult to meet the needs of 7×24 continuous production. ESTUN deployed the E-Care intelligent operation and maintenance system for BOE, relying on AI algorithms to achieve a leapfrog upgrade in operation and maintenance mode:
Intelligent warning: Based on equipment operation data and AI models, it accurately captures potential failure signs of key components and pushes warning information in advance, providing decision-making basis for planned maintenance.
Proactive operation and maintenance closed loop: From "repair after failure" to "repair before failure," it avoids the risk of unplanned downtime in advance and effectively ensures continuous production line operation rate.
Remote diagnosis and iteration: Relying on ESTUN's self-developed software platform, the service team can remotely assist in diagnosing equipment status, quickly respond to abnormal situations, and greatly reduce on-site waiting time.

The BOE production line manager said: "ESTUN has full-chain independent technology from core components to complete machines, electrical cabinets, and software. Whether it is body modification, cable optimization, or software iteration, it can quickly provide solutions that truly adapt to the industry. Today, the series of clean robots jointly created by both parties have been applied at scale on BOE's production lines. Equipment stability, usability, and service quality have all withstood full verification. Looking to the future, we look forward to breaking through together in more cutting-edge process links and jointly driving China's electronic manufacturing to grow to greater heights."
Between square inches, cleanliness knows no bounds. From catching up to standing side by side, the two-way journey of domestic brands is pushing the boundaries of China's electronic manufacturing toward a farther sea of stars.
